Order Routing
BookNet TeleOrdering is our unique order routing service, allowing orders to be placed with over 40,000 publishers, distributors and wholesalers in the UK. You don’t have to know the supplier – TeleOrdering will automatically route your orders to the correct distributor, allowing you to create only one order file. We route tens of millions of order lines per annum, that’s 50% of orders going through the supply chain, 96% of orders routed electronically to over 60,000 publisher/distributors worldwide.

BookNet Transaction Service: Ordering & Business Messaging 
Our services provide an efficient way to check availability, price, discount and to order:

  • Conduct basic bibliographic searches (enriched data is available on a subscription basis)
  • Send orders to ALL UK publishers/distributors and wholesalers for titles published in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US via TeleOrdering
  • Check price, availability and terms from participating distributors
  • Check your order history online (up to 6 months) 
  • Track orders and receive Order Acknowledgements and EDN (Electronic Delivery Note) messages
  • See price or status changes which need to be communicated to your customer

BookNet Web partners include: HarperCollins, Cambridge University Press, Macmillan Distribution (MDL) and The Book Services (TBS). As part of our continuing commitment to improve and widen the use of our service we are in discussion with many of the major distributors to extend our service and we also provide a service for smaller, independent distributors which enables the vast majority of self-distributing publishers to provide order acknowledgments to booksellers.
